Dalmia Chini Mills Unit-Ramgarh, Sitapur was the first sugar plant of dalmia established in the year 1994 in the village Ramgarh district Sitapur, Uttar Pradesh. District Head Quarter is Sitapur which is approx. 40 kms away from the Sugar Plant. The nearby broad gauge railway station is Lucknow, 85 kilometers away. Lucknow, the nearest airport, is approx. 90 kilometers away from the sugar plant.

This plant has a cane crushing capacity of 7500 TCD and an installed generation capacity of 25 MW. The unit started its first cane crushing on 28th December 1994 to manufacture plantation white sugar, using the double sulphitation process. It also has co-generation facility. The export of electricity started in October 2007. Co-generation takes place only during crushing season simultaneously with production of white sugar.

The plant produces bagasse, final molasses and filter cake as by-products. Bagasse is burnt in the high pressure boiler of 120 MT/Hr to produce steam and consequently electricity for in house use and export of surplus power to the Grid. The final molasses is used at distilleries, while filter cake finds use as manure in fields. Overall plant is following the world level proven industrial tools like, 5S, TPM, OSHAS, Heath and Food safety norms system; This quest for ‘excellence in what we do’ has also made Dalmia subject to both admiration and envy of other sugar mills operating in the industry.
