Sugar Manufacturing Plant



Shri Datta Sakhar Karkhana, Asurle-Porle (A unit of Dalmia Bharat Sugars & Industries Limited - DBSIL) is situated in Kolhapur District of Maharashtra. The plant is located 14 km away from district Headquarters, off the Kolhapur – Ratnagiri Road NH-204 in Panhala Taluka, Asurle-Porle Village. The nearest railway station is at Kolhapur. The nearest air-port is at Pune. Kolhapur city is on Pune- Bangalore National Highway No. 4, 225 km from Pune.

DBSIL purchased assets of this Sugar plant in September 2012. This plant has its own history of 27 years prior to Sep-2012. However, after the takeover by Dalmia Group the plant achieved an all-time, all-India high sugar recovery of 13.69% in crushing season 2012-13.

In 2013, the very next year of acquisition, this plant’s crushing capacity was expanded from 2500 TCD to 4800 TCD and also commissioned new Co-Generation plant of 14.5 MW.

Project expansion work was completed in a record time of 6 months for Sugar and 12 months for Co-Gen. Local stakeholders appreciated the speed of Dalmia team. During project stage major focus was on establishing a state-of-the-art plant with latest technology, highest level of automation and energy efficient equipment in plant.

SDSK has implemented new working techniques like TPM, TQM, OHSAS, ISO and annual energy auditing. Company has taken several initiatives to develop overall skill of employee with different tools like values programme, Leadership development program, in-house training and outdoor training by professionals.
